"I've been playing bass guitar since I was 18, the year I moved to California from New Jersey.
Started gigging about 6 month after first picking the instrument up.  I've played professionally
on a regular basis ever since then.  I love entertaining a good crowd that loves to dance.  It's
why I do this.  Well, that and the money, of course.  The guys in Velvet Jones are amongst my
closest friends, and I hope to be playing with them until I no longer have the strength to pick up
the bass.  Hey, they're heavy!"

about the band
Velvet Jones Band
Mark "Double Daddy" White
drums/vocals and professional beach dweller
I started banging on things when I was about 5 or so. My parents got
tired of their belongings being banged on and allowed me to get
drums! I got my first Rush album in 1977 and the rest is history! I
have been playing with these guys, in various bands, for over 20
years.  ARE WE HAVING ANY FUN YET? !!!

Steve knew he loved singing since the age of 4.  When he was in the 6th grade he sat in with his older brother’s band that was
playing at a high school graduation party performing a Ted Nugent song “Free For All”.  In middle school he knew he was serious
about music and became very active in school choral groups while studying classical voice.  While under the direction of world
renowned “Roger Letson” he performed throughout Europe and the U.S. in the “DeAnza Vocal Jazz Group”. In the late 90’s, Steve
studied extensively with the famous “Jim Bruno”, director/owner of Showcase Music Institute until 2005. While touring Steve also
shared the same bill with many well known artists and bands such as “Steppenwolf”, “Lou Rawls”, “Rob Hannah”, “Dick Dale”, and
“John Wedemeyer” just to name a few.One of the most outrageous gigs was broadcasted “live” on the famous 92.3 KSJO radio
station-“2112” playing on top of a local Walgreen’s store with Lamont and Tonelli.Did we mention his wife Lori? Almost forgot!
